STEM-Field Scholarships

Boster Bio Scholarship

The Boster Bio Scholarship is available to students enrolled in a two - or four - year academic program related to biology or biotechnology. High school seniors who demonstrate significant interest in biomedical research may also apply. You must have a minimum 3.6 GPA to be eligible for this award. Deadline: 11/30/24
Available to: Undergraduate & Graduate Students
Award Amount: $2,000

SMART Scholarship

The SMART Scholarship is available to currently enrolled college and graduate students. You must be pursuing a technical degree in one of the 21 STEM disciplines, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be able to participate in summer internships and willing to accept post-graduate employment at the DoD to be considered for this award. Deadline: 12/6/24

PixelPlex STEM Scholarship

The PixelPlex STEM Scholarship is available to students enrolled in a STEM, economics, or business field. You must submit an essay of at least 1,200 words on one of the following topics to be considered for this award: Blockchain, Metaverses, Internet of Things, or Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality. Deadline: 12/5/24

MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge

The MathWorks Math Modeling Challenge is open to high school juniors and seniors. In this challenge, students will be given 14 continuous hours to solve an open - ended, realistic, applied math - modeling problem focused on a real - world problem. The challenge is entirely internet - based. Students choose which day they wish to work on challenge weekend. Each high school may enter up to two teams of three to five students. Deadline: 2/21/25

Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI) Scholarship

The FOSSI Scholarship is available to students pursuing studies in a STEM discipline at an HBCU institution. You must be a U.S. citizen, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate financial need to be eligible for this award. Preference will be given to students studying chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, biology, physics, chemistry, math, computer science, biochemistry, material science, environmental sciences, IT, sustainability, agriculture / science, or a related field. Deadline: 1/31/25

Mycological Society of America Undergraduate Research Award

The Mycological Society of America Undergraduate Research Award is available to students who are conducting research on a fungal biology topic. Membership in the MSA at the time of application is encouraged. Deadline: 2/1/25

Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship

The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship is available to high school seniors. You must be planning to pursue a bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, or other computer science related field of study and have a minimum GPA of 2.3 to be eligible for this award. Deadline: 12/19/24

Fishery Management Scholarship

The Fishery Management Scholarship is available to high school seniors and current undergraduate and graduate students who have a passion for sport fishing. You must be majoring in biology, aquatic ecology, fisheries, or a closely related natural resource field with a career goal of becoming a practicing fishery manager with a state, federal, or provincial agency to be eligible for this award. Deadline: 5/1/25

SBB Research STEM Scholarship

The SBB Research STEM Scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate and graduate students. You must be pursuing a degree in STEM to be eligible for this award. You must also submit an essay on the following topic: "What have been your most significant experiences in and how will you use STEM principles to improve the world?" Deadline: Rolling

STEM-Field Internships

MLB Summer Technology Internship

The MLB Summer Technology Internship is available to junior, senior, and graduate students who are majoring in computer science or a related field. To be considered for this role, you should be familiar with Python/Java/React, be independent, and possess excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. As an intern, you will gain invaluable work experience through challenging project assignments, information sessions hosted by MLB senior management, and various additional events. Opportunities may be available in a variety of departments including but not limited to: software engineering, enterprise technology, technology services, broadcast operations, data science, data analytics, information security, product management, product design, or gaming/VR. Lloyd V. Berkner Space Policy Internship

The Lloyd V. Berkner Space Policy Internship is available to college seniors and graduate students who are majoring in physics, astronomy, chemistry, biology, or geology. Other areas are considered on a case-by-case basis. To be considered for this internship, you should have long-term career goals in space science research, applications, or policy and possess excellent written and verbal communications skills. You should also respond to guidance, be able to work independently, and proficient in basic research techniques. Deadline: 2/3/25

Marineland Education Internship

The Marineland Education Internship is open to students who are at least college junior status. You must be majoring in education, biology, or a related field, demonstrate a positive attitude, good work ethic, and eagerness to learn to be considered for this internship. Interns will work directly with the Education Department and are exposed to all aspects of non-formal education. Public speaking, classroom presentations, and innovative program building are just a few of the many experiences provided during this internship. This opportunity gives interns an unparalleled look into the marine mammal field while focusing on inspiring others to help animals and their environment. Deadline: 4/5/25

NASA Internship

The NASA Internship is available to are available to high school through graduate level students attending full-time accredited programs appropriate to the NASA internship. You must be a U.S. citizen, majoring in wide-variety of majors ranging from business to science and engineering to be considered for this internship. College-level interns must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. As an intern, you will engage in scientific or engineering research, development, and operations activities. In addition, there are non-technical internship opportunities to engage in professional activities which support NASA business and administrative processes. Deadline: 2/28/25
