Shamrock Cares Scholarship

The Shamrock Cares Scholarship is available to incoming college freshmen. You must demonstrate participation in volunteer activities that make a difference in your community and have a minimum 2.5 GPA to be eligible for this award. A 1,000-word essay is also required. Deadline: 11/30/24
Award Amount: $1,000

Ayesha Farrukh Scholarship

The Ayesha Farrukh Scholarship is available to full-time high school and college students. You must be a first-generation student demonstrating leadership potential and a commitment to community service to qualify for this award. A minimum 3.5 GPA is required. Deadline: 12/15/24
Award Amount: $500 - $2,500

Flavorful Futures Go Green Scholarship

The Flavorful Futures Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors. You must be planning to pursue a degree related to environmental studies and have a minimum 2.5 GPA to be eligible for this award. You must also demonstrate involvement in sustainable initiatives and projects (volunteering work, job, etc.) Deadline: 1/31/25
Award Amount: $5,000

Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship

The Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors. You must have actively promoted vegetarianism in your school and / or community. To be considered for this award, you must have demonstrated compassion, courage, and a strong commitment to promoting a peaceful world through a vegetarian diet/lifestyle. Deadline: 2/20/25
Award Amount: $5,000 - $10,000

Scholars Helping Collars Scholarship

The Scholars Helping Collars Scholarship is available to high school seniors. To be considered, you must submit an essay detailing your volunteer efforts to help animals in need and how that involvement has changed your life or shaped your perceptions of the importance of animal welfare. Deadline: 2/24/25
Award Amount: $200 - $1,500

Becca's Closet Spirit of Generosity Scholarship

The Becca's Closet Spirit of Generosity Scholarship is available to college-bound high school seniors. You must have demonstrated outstanding community service during high school and have a minimum 2.0 GPA to be considered for this award. Deadline: 3/29/24

DAV Auxiliary Education Scholarship

The DAV Auxiliary Education Scholarship is available to high school seniors and college undergraduate and graduate students who have served disabled veterans and / or their families in the past two years. You must have at least a 2.5 GPA to be eligible for this award. Deadline: 3/21/25
Award Amount: $750 - $2,500

Spirit of Giving Scholarship

The Spirit of Giving Scholarship is available to high school seniors and current college students. To be considered, you must submit a 500- to 750-word essay on one of the following three topics: How have you advanced the spirit of giving in your community or abroad, either through service or in giving? How has the spirit of giving affected you personally? How will your college or post-secondary education allow you to be of service to others or give to others? Deadline: 7/31/25

City Year – Volunteer for America

City Year, a proud member of AmeriCorps, is a national service organization that brings together young adults from diverse backgrounds for a demanding eleven months of full-time community service, leadership development, and civic engagement. In 29 locations across the United States, these young leaders invest their talents and energy to address our country's most critical needs. City Year corps members engage others in service and make a positive difference in their communities and in the lives of children and youth. Deadline: Rolling

Bonner Scholars Program

The Bonner Scholars Program is open to entering freshmen at participating colleges. You must demonstrate high financial need and have an interest in community service and social justice issues to be eligible for this award. Deadline: Varies
Award Amount: $2,500

Segal AmeriCorps Education Award

The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award is available to students who successfully complete their AmeriCorps term of service and enroll in the National Service Trust. This award can be used to repay qualified student loans and to pay current educational expenses at eligible institutions of higher education and training programs. Deadline: Rolling
Award Amount: up to $6,495

Carson Scholars Program

The Carson Scholars Program is open to students in grades four through eleven. To qualify for this award, you must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and display humanitarian qualities through community service. Interested students MUST be nominated by an educator at their school. Only one student from each school is able to apply. Deadline: Rolling
Award Amount: $1,000 Community service scholarships reward you for helping others. Volunteer opportunities can also help you pay for college. If your kindness helps you to minimize student loan debt, you should jump at the opportunity! Students involved in volunteer programs should ask whether any financial aid awards are available where they perform their community service. It is common for hospitals, veterans' groups, religious groups, historical societies, and other organizations to provide scholarships for volunteers that attend college.
