Conservation is the preservation and protection of all things in our natural world, from forests and oceans to animals and plants. In recent years, many organizations have sought to amp up their conservation efforts as deforestation, natural disasters, and human behavior continues to infringe upon the natural world and order.
As these efforts increase, there is a call for more students to engage in conservation through their academic pursuits and career avenues. As a result, we’re finding more conservation scholarships, like the Women in Conservation Science Scholarship.
Women in Conservation Science Scholarship
Deadline: 6/10/24 Available to: College and graduate students Award Amount: Up to $4,000 The Women in Conservation Science Scholarship is open to female undergraduate and graduate students pursuing studies related to natural resource conservation. You must be interested in a career in the fields of range science, forestry, biology, botany, earth science, wildlife management, and other majors related to conservation science in order to be considered for this award.Scholarship Information
Scholarship recipients will receive up to $4,000 each academic year for tuition and related expenses, which will be paid directly to the college or university. Recipients must keep a minimum GPA of 3.0 to remain eligible.Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be female students attending a college or university in Texas and studying range science, forestry, biology, botany, earth science, wildlife management, or a related field, with plans to pursue a career in conservation. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Preference will be given to applicants who are working part-time while enrolled full-time in school.Application Materials
Students should submit the following in order to apply: • Completed application • One brief letter of recommendation • Personal statement of 1,000 words or less on conservation science, career goals, and how you hope to make an impact on the conservation of Texas • Unofficial college/university transcript (from all schools attended) • If applicable: a brief description of current part-time employment (position, duties, employer, hours worked per week) and proof of employment (either a recent pay stub or a letter from your employer)Apply for the Women in Conservation Science Scholarship
