It's not uncommon these days to find scholarship essay topics that are centered around the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, there are scholarships whose primary requirement is to articulate a personal impact from the Coronavirus, which could technically apply to every student. From school closures to parental job loss, students have faced numerous circumstances that are a direct by-product of the global pandemic for the past two years. As a result, scholarship providers have pivoted to provide awards that will help those students impacted the most. Whether you lost a loved one or found the sudden and ever-changing mitigations challenging, there is a scholarship for you to apply to. Safe Jobs for Youth Month Poster Contest

Deadline: 1/27/23 Award Amount: Up to $300 The Safe Jobs for Youth Month Poster Contest is available to students between the ages of 14 and 18 who live in California. You must create a virtual poster in any language with a theme related to "Safe Jobs for Youth," specifically with workplace safety as it relates to the real threat of COVID-19.

Frontline Families Scholarship

Deadline: 2/15/23 Award Amount: Up to $2,500 The Frontline Families Scholarship Program is open to the biological, step-, and legally adopted children of frontline healthcare workers who have lost their lives to COVID-19. You must be planning to pursue undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational - technical school for the entire upcoming academic year to be eligible for this award. This program is not competitive; all eligible applicants will receive awards.

Walgreens Expressions Challenge

Deadline: 3/31/23
Award Amount: $2,000 The Walgreens Expressions Challenge is available to high school students between the ages of 13 and 18. To be considered, you must use your creativity to share how you feel about what is happening in your world through spoken word, visual arts, media arts or creative writing. Young people are asked to think about what is having an impact on them to draw inspiration for their entry. Topics can include, but not limited to: gender identity, social media, cyber bullying, self-esteem, dating + relationships, mental health, gun violence, drug abuse, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brave of Heart Scholarship

Deadline: 10/5/22 Award Amount: $50,000 The Brave of Heart Scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students. You must be the child, spouse, or domestic partner of a frontline healthcare worker who lost their life to a COVID - 19 - related cause to be considered for this award. Graduate students must be pursuing a patient - facing healthcare major to be eligible.

VIP Women in Technology Scholarship

Deadline: 3/31/22 Award Amount: Up to $2,500 The VIP Women in Technology Scholarship is available to female students who are pursuing a career in computer science, information technology, management information systems, or a related field. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award. You must also submit a 1500 - word essay that describes how the COVID pandemic has impacted the IT industry and how you imagine the industry will evolve in the next five years.

The Fountain Essay Contest

Deadline: 4/1/22 Award Amount: $1,000 The Fountain Essay Contest is available to students of all ages. To be considered, you must submit a 1500 - to 2500 - word essay that answers the following questions: "What does revival mean to you? How do you revive? Is getting back to "normal" a revival when there is a new normal every day? What is your new normal? Having faced the reality of death grievously during the pandemic, what would "revival" mean to those who lost their lives and to their loved ones left behind? How has your perception of life changed as we have realized our fragility and could not prevent the loss of millions? Do you believe in revival after death, and how did you rely on these beliefs during the pandemic?"

COVID-19 Impact Scholarship

Deadline: 6/19/22 Award Amount: $1,500 The COVID-19 Impact Scholarship is open to students who experienced significant disruptions in their college plans due to COVID-19. A significant disruption includes: A change of enrollment, from one school to another, due to COVID-19. a change of financial aid/status as a result of COVID-19, a change in credit load that impacts your financial aid and/or expected completion date or a loss of an internship or career opportunity as a result of COVID-19.
